BREAKING ICE
Breaking Ice, one of Pillsbury House Theatre’s signature programs, is a custom-devised, one-of-a-kind performance developed through improvisation and research using tools like music, poetry, song, physical movement, text, and humor to get at the heart of tough issues in new ways. Contains subject matter that - while valuable - may be difficult for young audience members to understand.
An organized discussion will follow the performance to provide all of us the opportunity to discuss the issues that the performance explores, together.
Brought to you by the Aberdeen Area Diversity Coalition and the Aberdeen Community Theatre.
Show dates and times: Thursday May 2 through Saturday May 4 at 7:30 PM and Sunday May 5 at 2:30 PM.

ABERDEEN CONNECTIONS
The AADC has received a $20,000 grant from the Bush Foundation to recruit community members from Aberdeen to participate in bushCONNECT 2018, a daylong conference in Minneapolis on Oct. 1. More than thirty participants attended the event, which hosts 1,200 community leaders from the Dakotas, Minnesota and 23 native nations within the states. The theme of this year's conference was "working across differences," and it aimed at creating stronger and more meaningful connections between leaders in the region.
MEET AND GREET
Our organization in partnership with the Aberdeen Police Department and K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library, hosted a meet and greet on Aug 25, 2018 with Aberdeen's Somali community. More than four hundred attendees- new residents and long time Aberdonians- joined us at the library and, over some Somali samosas and tea, had the opportunity to meet each-other.
